Source Forge statistics gone tits up!
Source Forge statistics gone tits up!You probably know the saying, "you can say anything with statistics". In this case it is the frightening truth! The Source Forge's statistics has gone tits up! It simply hasn't been working for a good 10 days by now! Me and many other people have logged the incident, and we have been promised that data is not lost.. its just sitting in some database whose data has yet to be synched across some network.. or something. Yeah.. this probably isn't a red herring...Eh! In practice, this means that you cannot see how many people have downloaded your programs, you can't see visitors or tracker histories. So should you dear reader be so fortunate as to explore new projects (both new and new to you) on Source Forge and rating them against, say number of downloads within the last month, you probably need to re-do the exercise in a near future :-) Particularly annoying is it, when you have just started a new project (Data Storm database browser) when the stats collapsed and so far only has 3 downloads! Gah! Enough ranting, we must remit, the S.F. hosting is free, I guess I'm just dying to see some stats any day soon...CommentsIf you have any comments to this article, please drop me a mail at firstclassthoughts at gmail dot com please indicate if I can't publish whole or parts of your comment on the site.If you like this site consider Help spread the wordShare this post on your favorite social bookmarking sites:
